Intro to Graphic Design

I’ve been teaching an Introduction to Graphic Design class at our homeschool co-op. This is a high school course to introduce students to the design process with emphasis on problem solving and relating graphic design to communication. Students were introduced to rule of thirds, color theory, texture, photo cropping, and typography. Design principles of contrast, repetition, alignment, and proximity were studied and applied to all projects. Design elements & file types of both print and web were covered. Projects included logo designs, business cards, magazine spreads, class t-shirt, a resume, stationary & letterhead, and a movie poster. It’s been fun to see their progress.

As you can see, they did a great job with their designs!
